Do's and Don'ts to Maintain Vinyl Graphics
The Do's:
- Use clean water and a mild car wash to clean vinyl graphics
- Before using any cleaning solution, test it on a small portion of the vinyl graphics
- Learn about proper safety instructions by reading the warning labels
- Rinse the vinyl graphics with clean water immediately after cleaning it with the soapy water blend
- After washing, use a microfiber cloth or let the vehicle air-dry
The don'ts:
- The vinyl shouldn't be in contact with fuels for a long time, so clean all spills as soon as you can
- Avoid using automated car washes, truck washes using caustic cleaners, or pressure washers to clean your vehicle
- Refrain from applying carnauba-based wax over vinyl graphics
- Don't apply any type of wax or polish to matte or carbon-fiber finished vinyl's
- Mechanical brush washing shouldn't be used
Only when no other cleaning methods are available, pressure washing should be used. Repeated pressure washing on vinyl graphics must be avoided.
